Curious why your baby does not react to your funny animated faces? Confused about their similar expressions when they look at a fan and you?
A new study on vision of a newly born child, conducted by the researchers at the Institute of Psychology in the University of Oslo, says that few weeks after the birth babies can only focus up to 30 centimeters. Surprised?
A newborn baby is only able to see the face of a person holding it.
Researchers also explained that the newborn babies could impersonate facial expressions in adults during the first few weeks of their lives, long before their vision is adequately developed.
So next time if you want an infant to giggle looking at your funny expressions, you better hold the baby close. And to be precise, under the range of 30 centimeters.
