After a lot of argument over our ‘Shirtless & Breastless’ article, here’s another blog that may compel you to question the definition of ‘beautiful’.
This Icelandic photographer, Sigga Ella, has captured the beauty of bald women. These women are suffering from alopecia, an autoimmune disorder that results in unpredictable hair loss on the scalp and body.
The project is called “Baldvin”. Baldvin means strength.
Sigga told HuffPost: “All of the women in the series wanted people to get to know more about their condition, and so it was important for the photos to show them just as they are.”
This project is definitely against many gender stereotypes. See few more portraits: Aren’t they so powerful? Beautiful?
