Interior Decorator Prerna Goel On Why Veggies & Fruits Are Her Skin’s BFFs

A few years ago, Interior Decorator Prerna Goel was picked by Chanel from across the globe as one of five women to feature in a documentary celebrating the brand’s 100 years. Recently, during an interview with Elle India, she spoke about the homemade beauty regimen that she’s been following for past many years and still swears by.

Prerna says it is a cup of hot water with turmeric, cinnamon, and lemon that she starts her day with. This is followed by a good breakfast of eggs, fruits, and coconut water. Throughout the day, the designer makes sure she keeps her skin hydrated with water and green juices and wears sunscreen before leaving her house.

Talking about her skincare routine, she says she believes in yogurt face packs that she prepares at home. “I mix yogurt, banana, turmeric and a little honey. You’ll see the difference when you use it; your skin will be as smooth as a baby’s bottom. For my hair, I grind fresh aloe vera with coconut oil and apply it as a hair mask. Just one hour is enough to nourish the hair,” she remarks. Otherwise, it’s the usual cleansing and washing her skin with virgin coconut oil that follows. Apart from this, she puts her trust into Medik8 C-Tetra face cream (loaded with vitamin C) and a serum from Skin Therapy.

For Prerna, it’s her mother who inspires her to keep her skincare routine as natural as possible. She signs off by saying, “I take a lot of care of my skin and most of my knowledge comes from my mum, who is a naturopath. I have been her guinea pig for years, and I still use the fruit and vegetable face packs and hair packs she has taught me to make. It’s safe to say that a mini kitchen exists in my bathroom.”
