Here’s Why 12 Y.O. Najma Is Happy That Her Stepmom Got A 40 Y.O. Suitor For Her

Government and many social activists have been working towards curbing child-marriages. And yet, in small villages and towns, child marriage or early marriage of girls is a common phenomenon.

Early marriage is one of the major social problems in our country and the biggest impact that it has is on the health of the brides.

It not only denies the young an opportunity to grow but also poses a serious risk to their health especially to the women, who are forced to bore children soon after their marriage.

A man who goes by the name, GMBAkash, shared the tear-jerking story of a 12-year-old girl, Najma, who lost her mother while giving birth, another risk related to child marriages and early pregnancies. What followed for her was just a struggle to survive.

Cursed by her grandmother for “eating up” her mother, she realized that her father didn’t talk to her much. Najma’s father got married again so Najma could get a mother. But, all in vain!

“But she never cared about me and I was fully raised by my grandma. When I grew up my work was to take care of my younger sibling,” the story reads.

And, then one day, a 40-year-old man was invited by her stepmother to their house. Little Najma was decked up and only then she realized that the man came with a marriage proposal for her.

“I was scared like never before. The man left by assuring, he will arrive with his family. I cried all night to my grandma, asked to do something, so she could save me from that gigantic man.”

However, when the man’s family arrived to fix the marriage, Najma’s father was at home. And, what happened next would light the hope in your heart.

“At first glance, he was surprised which assured me he knew nothing. Before I understood anything, he brought his big stick and started beating everyone, including my stepmother.”

It was on this day that Najma got to know the real reason behind her mother’s death.

“That day I got to know, my mother died because she was very young and was married at my age. As my father’s family forced my young mother to get married and thus I lost my mother during birth. Because of that, my father could not meet his eyes with me.”

And finally, she found peace and happiness in her daddy’s arms!

“My father embraced me and said he would never let it happen with me ever. I forgave my step mother, if she did not do evil, how come I know I have been loved by my father this much!”

Najma’s story gives out a strong message that it’s time that we stop making the same mistakes done in the past by our older generations and instead, take charge to rectify them for the greater good of the society.
