Happy Holi! You haven’t left your home, right? Before you go, here’s a word of advice. Let’s not forget that there’s a lot of ‘skin protection’ to work towards. A sizable amount of people avoid participating in the festival due to the damage that the harmful chemicals hidden in the Holi gulaal, do to their skin and hair.

Here are a bunch of tips that will come in handy while preparing yourself to let yourself out into the battlefield.

Coconut oil!

You probably already know this one. Have a bottle of coconut oil ready. Rub it on your scalp, and coat your entire body and hair with it. That way, it will be easy to remove the colour later, after the battle is obviously lost.

Nail Polish

Paint your nails the darkest colour in order to prevent your nails from getting a long lasting freakish purple/pink. We gotta go gothic this one day, wimminz.

Use Herbal Colours

Because prevention is better than cure! Eeven though you can’t be a 100% sure, try your best to use only herbal colours. Or you know how you’ll end up…

Cover Yourself As Much As Possible

No, it’s not winter, but we can make it seem like! Find your oldest pairs of full-sleeved shirts and PJs. We hope your friends don’t understand your chalaaki and tear the extra sleeves out, because if that’s not a problem, you’re good to go.

Say NO to facials

Make sure that you don’t get any bleaches or facials done before playing Holi, expect bad skin, irritation and breakouts!

Enjoy!

At the end of the day, it’s important to enjoy the festival! So just relax and step out because the piranhas are waiting.
