Free taBOOBS: Cartoon Characters in the Project ‘Survivor’

As a part of our ‘Free taBOOBs Campaign’, we are looking for all the interesting things around that can give you strength to stand in the battle against the Breast Cancer. These pictures show iconic female cartoon characters as you’ve never seen them before. A powerful reflection on the disease, mastectomy and its effects, female identity and acceptance.

Italian artist and activist AleXsandro Palombo’s latest project, called ‘Survivor’ shows what Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, Aurora, Jasmine, Tiana, Marge Simpson (The Simpsons), Lois Griffin (Family Guy), Wonder Woman, Jessica Rabbit, Betty Boop, Olive Oyl and Wilma Flinstone would look like if they underwent surgery to remove their breasts. Through this project, he expresses the strong message to society to help women overcome shyness associated with the breast self check-up, hence this can save a woman’s life. He argues through these images that mastectomy in no way effect femininity and beauty. The artist urges society to pay its bit to forming women’s confidence.
