While receiving the 2015 Arthur Ashe Courage Award, Caitlyn Jenner said, “I was living my life for other people.”
Her speech is so powerful that you would want to listen to it again and again. In the past, we have reported how Olympian Bruce Jenner came out as transgender and finally decided to transform in a woman’s body – which he (now she) believed was the real identity.
She said, “If you want to call me names, make jokes and doubt my intentions, go ahead because the reality is I can take it. But for thousands of kids out there coming to terms with the reality of who they are they shouldn’t have to take it.”
Speaking about the LGBT community, she showed concern saying, “They’re getting bullied, they’re getting beaten up, they’re getting murdered, they’re committing suicide. Trans people deserve something vital, they deserve your respect.”
Here’s goes the full speech:
Let’s call it one of the most powerful speeches of the year. Shall we?
