Bookaroo: Arefa Tehsin Introduces ‘Keeds’ To ‘Keedas’

A jhund of fearless children made their way towards the Studio, where Arefa Tehsin, where the kickass woman with the love for wildlife was waiting. The room was dark and full of terrors (high-five for GoT reference). And the terror wasn’t of any witches or wizards, but the twelve-legged, and the hundred-legged creatures!
Arefa was going to introduce the kids to a never-before-seen world of ants and spiders, flies, snails, and serpents. And, post the session, the kids would be the serpent-hunters in the backyard!
The kids were fired up, all ready to answer incorrectly to the questions the boot-wearing-badass-Arefa asked.
The bright-eyed author Arefa had many tasks prepared for the kids. Her expressive and imaginative explanations left the children open-mouthed.
With, “haws” and “awws” and “OMGs”, their eyes were glued to the big projector screen.
Q & A
Snail shells are good for (toothache/wrinkles/tongue twister She sells sea shells on the sea shore)
Lots of hands shot up and only two chances were given. Arefa moved around with a microphone in her hand and the first girl with two pigtails answered – ma’am it’s the tongue twister.
Arefa giggled and said, “It’s actually good for wrinkles! Did you know that even in the lip balms you use, snail shells are a major constituent!”
She told us many things using “Did You Know”:
The singular of lice is Louse!
There are more than 3000 types of lice found in the world.
There are over 4000 types of cockroaches in the world.
A group of cockroaches is called an intrusion!
