Malala Yousafzai spoke at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in New York on Sept. 25, 2015. She spoke on behalf of children whose lives are affected by war.
Malala was accompanied by 193 young people, representing the countries of the U.N. She said, “Education is not a privilege, it is a right. Education is hope, education is peace. Promise young people peace. Promise them prosperity. Promise them an education … that wars cannot stop them from learning.”
Few days back, Malala launched a global education campaign – ‘Stand with Malala’ – that encourages supporters to tell their leaders to offer 12 free years of education to all children, build awareness by spreading the hashtag on social media and donating to the Malala Fund.
Looking at her determination to change the fate of every child, we are nothing but inspired. She remarked, “The world needs a change. It cannot change itself. It’s me, it’s you, and it’s all of us who have to bring that.”
