A graduate of the Harvard Business School, a J.N.Tata scholar and has worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and at the Bridgespan group (Boston).
So what led her to start a service in baby care? She saw her friends posting their questions on Facebook inquiring about reliable child services and products.
Naiyya tells SHEROES, “Our efforts seem to be striking a chord with moms and dads since BabyChakra.com is proving to be one of the fastest growing parenting platforms in India! In the last 2.5 months since launch our community has grown to 8000+ parents! We’ve also recently been chosen by a well-known accelerator as one of their accelerator companies and are in advanced fundraising conversations with investors.”
Telling about how much Babychakra helpful, she tells, “Being a mum is one of the toughest roles in the world. You are constantly juggling your house, career and trying to do the best for your baby. Having personally observed friends of ours leave the workforce due to the stress of trying to balance motherhood & career, BabyChakra is determined to do what it takes to support mothers and make their life a bit easier.”
Sounds good!
BabyChakra.com helps parents figure out the best local services and products for themselves and their kids. You can search services and products from sectors like – health, wellness, education, activities, support services etc. It even has a panel of experts guiding you on topics like pregnancy, child health, nutrition, education etc. Just as its website describes – “On BabyChakra, we feature quality, recommended services and products suggested by moms and dads just like you. Unlike other websites, we are a community. We started off with asking real moms and dads what and who they love: So You use Suggestions. Read Reviews. Make Decisions.”
She even has an advice for women like her:
“If you are considering being an entrepreneur, I’d say just go for it! There is no better time than the present and there will never be. 2 heads-ups though:
- Do go in with eyes wide open. Entrepreneurship is not glamorous. It is tough, often lonely and to stay inspired and inspire your team, you need to give it all you have. Even if it means 18-20 hour days and no weekends off.
- Support other people’s dreams while building your own. When people know you are vested in their progress, they will actively invest in yours. Actively create opportunities in your venture to invest in the success of your partners and teams.” – Naiyya tells SHEROES.
