These DIY Watermelon Mask & Mist Will Give You The Perfect Summer Glow

Hate it or love it, we cannot avoid it! So, what to do about the mess that the scorching summer heat creates on our face?
Well, you’ll be surprised to know that the answer to this issue is right there in your kitchen: Watermelon! Not only it is absolutely soul soothing to eat on a hot sunny day, but it also works wonders for your skin.
Glow Recipe co-founder Sarah Lee shares with Vogue, the DIY watermelon mask and mist recipes which will surely help you soothe heat rash, acne, and sunburns.
Glow Recipe DIY Watermelon-Rind Mask:
Step 1: Slice watermelon into discs and quarters, creating 2-inch-thick triangular wedges.
Step 2: Remove pink flesh so that only a hint of it remains on the rind (cube flesh and save for snacking).
Step 3: Chill rind in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
Step 4: Using a mandolin, slice the rind into paper-thin pieces and apply directly to irritated skin until the cooling sensation subsides.
Glow Recipe DIY Watermelon-Rind Mist:
Step 1: Slice watermelon into discs and quarters, creating 2-inch-thick triangular wedges.
Step 2: Remove pink flesh so that only a hint of it remains on the rind (cube flesh and save for snacking).
Step 3: Chill rind in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
Step 4: Finely grate the rind and strain through a cheesecloth.
Step 5: Place clear liquid into a spray bottle and mist onto irritated skin.
