There is a ‘silly’ notion that women fare well in kitchens for that’s their ‘designated zone’. Well, the latest ‘most viewed tech executives’ is sufficient to bring down that patriarchal belief. LinkedIn is a social networking site designed specifically for the business community, and some profiles get millions of views based on their professional expertise and two women, yeah working women, are on the list.
One can go on and about the patriarchal mindset of society that rarely celebrates the wins of the women. But we have much better tasks at hand! Let’s see for ourselves who these businesswomen are:
Taru Kapoor, Head of India operations of Tinder, the popular dating app.
Appointed last year in January, Kapoor has completed her MBA from Harvard Business School and prior to joining Tinder, she worked for organizations such as Pocket Gems, Sequoia Capital India. She aims to take Tinder to new heights and connect more and more people.
Smita Nair Jain – Senior divisional Vice President, Sear Holdings India
Sear Holdings is an IT company that provides corporate IT services and solutions to Sears Holdings Corporation and Jain has been the senior divisional vice president there for the last one year now. She is a member of the Leaders Excellence at Harvard Square and worked at Barclays Technology as chief operating officer and whole-time director.
Women empowering themselves! Now that’s what I call a developing India.
